The National SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM (NSLP) Is Funded By The Federal Government To Assist Schools & Other Agencies In Providing A Nutritious Lunch To Students.
National School Lunch Program Meals Provide Students With One-Third Of The Recommended Dietary Allowance Of Necessary Nutrients.
Schools that participate in the program ensure that students eat a nutritious meal that enhances their physical and mental well being and improves their learning abilities.
Studies have shown that students whose nutritional needs are met are more attentive in class and learn better. In addition, these students exhibit fewer discipline and attendance problems.
The National School Lunch Program is available to public and private non-profit schools. Also eligible are public and private licensed residential child care institutions including group homes, juvenile halls and orphanages.
